Ron Manabat and Rob Smith bring to the medium of glass an exploration of its properties of translucency and transparency which are inspired by an innate appreciation of our natural environment. Their use of expressive form and deft handling of linear interaction display a brilliance of color and vibrancy of pattern and texture in each fused glass piece. Multiple firings achieve varying degrees of polish and the slumping process is employed for sculptural detailing. Splashes of brilliant color seem to pour from each unique sculpture. As sunlight pierces each panel the viewer is treated to a dazzling display of color and nature's influence is evident. |
